B Let's understand
Humans are social beings who live together in villages, towns, and cities. To manage civic services like clean drinking water, street lighting, public schools, paved roads, and garbage disposal, we elect local self-governments. In villages, the local governing body is the Gram Panchayat. Adult villagers elect the Gram Panchayat members and its head, the Sarpanch (or Pradhan). In towns and cities, civic needs are managed by Municipal Committees or Municipal Corporations, headed by a Mayor. These local bodies collect taxes to fund public services. As responsible citizens, we have civic duties to keep public spaces clean, conserve public property, and participate in community decision-making.
C See it step by step

- Constructing and repairing village roads, drains, and streetlights.
- Running primary health centers and village schools.
- Resolving minor disputes among villagers peacefully.
- Gram Panchayat: Governs rural villages.
- Municipal Corporation: Governs large metropolitan cities (like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru).
