B Let's understand

A preposition is a word placed before a noun or pronoun to show its relationship to another word in the sentence. Prepositions answer questions like where, when, and in which direction. Prepositions of Place show location: "The cat is under the table"; "The painting hangs on the wall". Prepositions of Time show when: we use "at" for specific clock times (at 5:00 PM), "on" for days and dates (on Monday, on 15th August), and "in" for months, seasons, and years (in July, in 2024, in summer). Prepositions of Movement show direction and motion: jumping "into" the pool, walking "across" the street, or hiking "through" the dense jungle.

C See it step by step

Example 1: Fill in the blanks with at, on, or in: "My birthday is _______ October. We will celebrate _______ Saturday _______ 6 o’clock."
  1. October is a month -> use "in October".
  2. Saturday is a day of the week -> use "on Saturday".
  3. 6 o’clock is a specific clock time -> use "at 6 o’clock".
  4. Complete: "My birthday is in October. We will celebrate on Saturday at 6 o’clock."
Example 2: What is the difference between "in" and "into"?
  1. "In" indicates a static position already inside: "She is swimming in the pool."
  2. "Into" indicates motion from outside to inside: "She dove into the pool."
