A Today you'll learn
- Identify big trees, bushy shrubs, and tiny herbs
- Name the basic parts of a plant: root, stem, leaf, and flower
- Understand that plants give us fresh air, fruits, and shade
B Let's understand
Plants make our world green and beautiful! Very tall and strong plants with thick wooden trunks are called trees, like the mango tree, neem tree, and banyan tree. Medium-sized bushy plants are called shrubs, like the rose and hibiscus. Very small plants with soft green stems are called herbs, like mint and coriander. A plant has roots hidden under the ground to drink water, a stem to hold it up, green leaves to make food in the sunshine, and colorful flowers that smell sweet and turn into fruits.
