"Identify doing words (verbs) like jump, sing, run, read, and sleep."

FREE TOPIC 3 learning goals · Class 1 · English · Topic 5

A Today you'll learn

  • Understand action words (verbs) as doing words that show movement or action
  • Identify action words in simple sentences (jump, eat, sleep, read, swim)
  • Act out and mimic action words playfully

B Let's understand

Action words tell us what someone or something is doing! They are full of energy and movement. You can do them with your body: jump, run, dance, hop, wave, clap, and smile! You can do them in school: read, write, draw, and listen. Animals do action words too: frogs hop, birds fly, and fish swim. Whenever a word tells you what a person, animal, or thing is doing, it is an action word (verb)!

C See it step by step
